Hi, I’m Leona,

I am a warm, empathic therapist with twenty years of experience. It's my intention to work with you compassionately and respectfully. I am open and non-judgemental and I'm passionate about the benefits of counselling. I am a registered member of the BACP and I work from a person-centred perspective. I adhere to the ethical framework of the BACP.

I started out working with young people at a large comprehensive school in South East London and then joined the counselling team as a lead counsellor at The Brit School in Croydon. I spent around ten years working in these schools, working one to one and in groups that helped to identify young people who were struggling.

During this time I also joined a tutor team that was training first and second-year counselling diploma students on a BACP-accredited course, this also led to me supervising trainee supervision students.

I went on to become the clinical lead for an organisation called MOSAC (now renamed We Stand) who support non-abusing parents and carers of sexually abused children and also supports many of the children themselves who have suffered child sexual abuse. I ran both the face-to-face counselling teams and developed the online counselling teams to support those parents who lived outside London. I managed the training managers and the play therapy teams and was the lead safeguarder.

Throughout all of the years I have been qualified I have also had my private practice and I have worked with both adults and young clients.

I’m passionate about diversity and recognise each client as the individual human being that they are.

I cannot thank enough, every single person that I have worked with up till now, who has given me the privilege of allowing me into their inner world and trusted me with their experiences and feelings.

Leona.
